Favourite Books #2

A firm favourite that sits upon my bookshelf is Stuck by Oliver Jeffers. Stuck is centred around a boy who gets his kite stuck in a tree, the items (and people) he uses to try rescue his beloved kite is what makes it a laugh out loud story. Oliver Jeffers never fails to create an imaginative story that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. I had the pleasure of meeting Oliver at one of his recent book signings in Manchester for his newest book Here We Are, perhaps that will be another blogpost soon!

Favourite Books #1

On a recent trip to Germany I picked up this children's book from a little shop in Mitte, Berlin. The title translates to 'Plip, the Umbrella Man' Written by David Sire and Illustrated by Thomas Baas. Despite not being able to read German myself, the cool toned Illustrations do a wonderful job of telling the story. The Umbrella Mans journey consists of battling to overcome some of life's greatest obstacles sadness and loneliness, in order to find happiness.

Barcelona On Film

In September 2017 I travelled to Barcelona for the first time. Disposable camera in hand, here is a selection of the photographs that made the cut.

When in Barcelona you MUST

  • Go and see Gaudi's Sagrada Família.
  • Explore the Gothic Quarter (my personal favourite area).
  • Visit La Boqueria - The most famous food market in Barcelona.
  • Wander around Park Güell.
  • Take a hike up to the Spanish Civil War Bunkers (Bunkers del Carmel).
  • Visit the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc.
  • Take a trip to Barceloneta Beach.
